12 easy tasks before you attend an interview – how many of these do you do?

- Familiarise yourself with the requirements of the job and be clear how your achievements fit the role.
- Have a copy of the job description and advert to take with you.
- Review the CV and consider questions you may be asked and have appropriate answers prepared.
- Identify the areas in previous roles which are relevant to the position you are being interviewed for and confident you can speak knowledgeably about these.
- Complete research on the Company and the job.
- Prepare a list of questions you would like to ask about the job and the Company and take this with you to the interview.
- Establish before the interview who will be interviewing you, their job title and position in the Company.
- Plan what you will wear and check it is appropriate and presentable.
- Take two spare copies of your CV with you making sure they are in a white A4 envelope or plastic wallet.
- Check the time of the interview and where it will be held (this may be a different venue to the address where your invitation originated from)
- Plan your journey so that you can arrive 10-15 minutes early.
- Switch off your mobile phone.
